Can't say if the Howaru patented strains make a difference, but it is a decent CFU count which is more important IMO. I try to buy 30 billion CFU so that there is enough probiotic that survives pass stomach acid and makes it to intestines where nutrients are absorbed. California Gold tends to have probiotics with more strains on sale with larger amount/CFU, also in blister sealed packaging.
